District Seeding Assist

Below are the four girls soccer classes divided into districts as assigned by the Missouri State High School Activities Association. In an effort to help schools get an idea of possible seeding prior to the district tournaments, we have listed (highest to lowest) each school and the Missouri Power Rankings (MPR) points as of May 2 (results posted after 9 a.m. won't be included). This is in not intended to substitute for the actual seeding done by coaches, but rather shared in order to help districts/schools who may not see/play each other figure out the best possible seedings for their respective tournaments. The MPR does not reflect head-to-head results from the season, so it is entirely possible for a team to be ranked below a team it has defeated. Results versus teams within the district, head-to-head results (when applicable) and overall team success (MPR) should be the factors used when deciding district seeds, so hopefully this is a helpful guide to teams over the next few weeks. We will update again next week.

Note: Based on the previous 2.5 years of results (boys and girls), results have shown that schools within .5 points of each other are considered to be within the "high level of upset" range, meaning a team within.5 points of the higher ranked team has had more success in gaining a result than a team outside the .5 point range. Thus, a higher concentration of teams within .5 of each other will likely lead to a more "competitive" district.
